The collector mails the bills out the last week of December to the individual taxpayers or to the mortgage escrow company. Her hours to collect taxes at her office at the Town Hall are mailed with the bills. The bills can be paid without penelties by Jan 31 of each year. In Feburary there will be a 1% late charge. In March there will be a 1&1/2 % late charge. Her warranty to collect the taxes expires the end of March each year and the uncollected bills are returned to the County Finance Dept.
